According to reports from The Times, Arsenal are nearing an agreement worth around £80 million, including add-ons, for the Brazilian midfielder. The Sun also claims a deal is edging closer, while ESPN reports Arsenal’s confidence has grown following the departure of Newcastle manager Eddie Howe. Neither club has officially confirmed negotiations.
Manchester United are also being linked with a move involving Newcastle, with reports claiming the Red Devils are considering a surprise approach for left-back Lewis Hall as they continue strengthening Erik ten Hag’s squad ahead of the new season.
