Abia North Senator Orji Uzor Kalu has vowed that the All Progressives Congress (APC) will wrest power from Governor Alex Otti in the 2027 gubernatorial election, urging the current state chief executive to “write his will.”

Speaking at a recent political gathering, Kalu, a former governor of Abia State, dismissed Otti’s political acumen and warned that the APC is fully prepared to reclaim the state. He also pledged to personally campaign door-to-door across Abia to ensure Otti’s defeat.

“The governor said in an interview that people who want to take over from him should go and write their wills. Tell him to go and write his will first because we are taking over,” Kalu declared.

He described Otti as a “joker” and “a banker” with no real grasp of politics, asserting that Abia citizens would “speak in one voice” and prevent election manipulation:
“As far as I’m concerned, the governor is a one-term governor. We don’t allow people to rig elections here.”

Kalu’s comments come amid escalating political tension in Abia State, with opposition parties gearing up for the 2027 polls and positioning themselves for a major showdown with the incumbent administration.

Political analysts suggest that Kalu’s aggressive posture is aimed at consolidating APC’s influence in Abia, while sending a stark warning to Governor Otti and his allies.
