Anambra State Governor Charles Soludo has celebrated a major family milestone after his daughter, Oduko Soludo, graduated with First Class Honours in Neuroscience from the University of Nottingham in the United Kingdom.
Governor Soludo, accompanied by his wife, Nonye Soludo, and other family members, attended the graduation ceremony on Thursday, July 23, to celebrate Oduko’s academic achievement in one of the university’s most demanding degree programmes.
While the ceremony attracted congratulatory messages, attention quickly shifted to the noticeable absence of the governor’s son, Ozonna Soludo, who is popular on social media for his fashion and lifestyle content.
Instead of appearing at the graduation, Ozonna shared a motivational video encouraging his followers to focus on self-worth rather than seeking approval from others.
“Love yourself more, make yourself a priority. F**k other people’s opinions. Baby, choose you,” he said in the video.
He later reinforced the message with a post that read: “Loving yourself will cost you the approval of people who benefit from your self-abandonment. So let this be a reminder to choose yourself anyway. Again and again. Because you are worth it.”
The timing of the post, coming on the same day as his sister’s graduation, sparked speculation on social media, with many users questioning why he was absent from the family celebration.
The speculation, however, eased after Anambra State First Lady, Nonye Soludo, shared new family photographs on Sunday featuring Governor Soludo, Ozonna, Oduko and other family members together.
Captioning the post, she simply wrote, “Happy Sunday everyone.”
Ozonna also reposted some of the family photos on his own social media page with the caption, “Peace and Love. Happy Sunday,” a move many followers interpreted as putting to rest the online conversations surrounding his absence.
