Junior Ubiribo, son of the late Nigerian-British businessman and social media influencer Igho “Tiny” Ubiribo, has disputed the reported circumstances surrounding his father’s death in Thailand, saying the explanation given so far does not answer key questions.
Junior, in a video shared online, rejected the narrative that his father’s death was simply linked to complications from a cosmetic procedure, insisting that he believed other factors needed to be examined.
“My dad was killed in March, and I say killed because although they’re trying to push this narrative that he needed his private region bigger, that’s not what happened,” he said.
He also raised questions about injuries he alleged his father sustained, including an injury to the eye and a serious wound to the forehead. Junior questioned whether such injuries could be explained by complications from the procedure reportedly performed in Bangkok.
The claims come as Thai health authorities investigate the clinic where Ubiribo underwent his final cosmetic treatment. The clinic reportedly told investigators that he had been a regular patient since 2024 and had undergone five procedures.
According to Thailand’s Department of Health Service Support, Ubiribo underwent his fifth treatment on March 5, 2026, receiving 40cc of filler. Investigators were told that a doctor had recommended splitting the treatment into two sessions, but Ubiribo opted for a single session.
Thai authorities said the clinic provided aftercare instructions and followed up on his condition. Police are also investigating the circumstances surrounding his death, while the health authorities said their findings would be forwarded to Thailand’s Medical Council for consideration of whether professional standards were followed.
Records from Westminster Coroner’s Court state that Ubiribo died at 1:05 a.m. on March 6 after medical personnel attempted to resuscitate him. A post-mortem and toxicology investigation attributed his death to a pulmonary embolism associated with the hyaluronic acid injection used during the procedure.
Junior has also alleged that some of his father’s valuables and properties disappeared after his death, but he did not provide evidence in the video establishing the claims or explaining how the items were allegedly taken.
He said he was seeking answers about his father’s death and expressed his grief over the loss. “I miss my dad. He didn’t deserve what happened to him, and he doesn’t deserve what’s happening to him now,” he said.
Junior’s allegations have introduced a competing account of the circumstances surrounding Ubiribo’s death. However, the claims of foul play, injuries and missing property remain unsubstantiated in the material available, while Thai authorities have not announced findings of malpractice or professional misconduct against the clinic or its medical personnel.
Ubiribo, who had more than 180,000 Instagram followers, was known for documenting his travels and lifestyle and had links to Nigeria’s entertainment industry. He was also a longtime friend of Afrobeats star Davido. He was later buried in London following his death in March.
