President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has assured Nigerians that his administration remains committed to fulfilling its promises, declaring that he will not betray the trust reposed in him despite the challenges created by ongoing economic reforms.
The President made the pledge on Thursday through Senate President Godswill Akpabio during the inauguration of the executives of the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement, a political mobilisation group established to promote the administration’s Renewed Hope agenda across the country.
Addressing supporters, traditional rulers, political leaders, civil society organisations and other stakeholders, Tinubu said his government remained focused on building a stronger and more prosperous Nigeria, even as citizens continue to endure the effects of difficult policy decisions introduced since he assumed office.
“I assure Nigerians of unwavering dedication to our mandate. This administration will remain committed to fulfilling its vision of building a better nation for present and future generations alike,” the President said.
Tinubu urged members of the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement to intensify grassroots engagement by taking government policies and programmes directly to communities. He stressed that sustained interaction with citizens is essential for strengthening democracy and increasing public participation in governance.
According to the President, electoral success and national development both begin at the grassroots. He encouraged supporters to promote democratic values respectfully while explaining the benefits of government policies to Nigerians.
Tinubu acknowledged that the reforms implemented by his administration have required sacrifices from citizens but insisted they are necessary to secure long-term economic stability and sustainable national growth.
He maintained that countries achieve lasting progress by confronting difficult challenges with courage, adding that resilience and patriotism remain vital in overcoming temporary hardships.
The President also called for greater collaboration between the executive, legislature and citizens, saying national development depends on collective commitment rather than political divisions. He warned against allowing partisan interests to undermine Nigeria’s unity and urged citizens to place the country’s future above personal or political ambitions.
Tinubu commended High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, and members of the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement for launching the nationwide mobilisation campaign in support of his administration. He expressed confidence that the reforms introduced over the past three years are laying the foundation for sustained economic growth and brighter prospects for Nigerians.
Speaking on behalf of the organisers, Managing Director of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited, Kestin Pondi, described the inauguration as the beginning of a nationwide campaign to mobilise support for the President’s vision. He urged members of the movement to remain peaceful, disciplined and committed to promoting national unity and democratic participation.
