The arrests were made during coordinated township patrols and raid operations conducted by the Rapid Response Squad’s Social Vices Unit between October 29 and November 2, 2026.

The Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Nahum Kenneth Daso, disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday, saying the operation was carried out on the orders of the Commissioner of Police, Naziru Abdulmajid, with the involvement of other security agencies.

According to Daso, security operatives raided several identified flashpoints and criminal hideouts across the city, including Gwange, Santiago, Texaco, Ajari, Budum, Shehuri, Bulabulin, Baga Road, Polo, Damboa Road, the Giwa Barracks area, Jiddari and Moduganari.

He said the suspects were arrested over various alleged offences, ranging from public nuisance and drug-related activities to unlawful possession of weapons.

The police spokesperson added that the suspects were undergoing screening, while those found culpable would be prosecuted in accordance with the law.

Items recovered during the operations included 889 wraps of Indian hemp, 104 wraps of Erinmo, seven packs of Colorado, two quantities of methamphetamine, popularly known as ice, eight bottles of codeine syrup and 266 tablets of D5.

Other recovered substances included 13 tablets of Diazepam, 11 tablets of Tramadol, seven Tramadol capsules, 300 capsules of Exole and one bottle of Methylene Chloride.

The police also recovered four ice bunkers, 11 rounds of live ammunition, four sharp knives, one cutlass, one axe, three sets of Shisha pots and 11 pieces of ice bulbs.

Reacting to the operation, Commissioner of Police Naziru Abdulmajid commended the officers for their commitment, vigilance and proactive approach to maintaining public safety.

He assured residents that the command would sustain intelligence-driven operations aimed at dismantling criminal networks and tackling activities capable of threatening public peace.

“The Command remains committed to sustaining intelligence-led operations, intensifying the fight against illicit drug activities and dismantling criminal hideouts and networks capable of threatening public peace and security,” the commissioner said.

The police command urged residents to support security efforts as operations against criminal activities continue across the state.
