Rita Daniels, mother of Nollywood actress Regina Daniels, has dismissed reports that her daughter has reconciled with her estranged husband, Delta North Senator Ned Nwoko.
The clarification follows a recent visit by Regina to Nwoko’s residence, which triggered fresh speculation on social media about the status of their relationship.
According to Rita, the actress went to the residence simply because she had been invited to see her children. She said the visit should not be interpreted as evidence that the estranged couple had reunited.
“She was invited to see her children; that was what happened,” Rita said while responding to actor Uche Maduagwu on Instagram.
Regina’s appearance at Nwoko’s residence came months after the couple’s highly publicised marital dispute, during which both sides made allegations against each other.
Nwoko had previously made accusations against Regina, while the actress alleged that the senator was attempting to damage her reputation and had engaged in controlling behaviour. Regina also questioned the legal status of their marriage.
The latest visit sparked mixed reactions online, with some social media users interpreting it as a possible reconciliation. Others went further by speculating that Regina could be pregnant, although her family has dismissed that claim.
Regina’s sister, Destiny Daniels, had earlier explained that the actress remained single and had only been allowed to visit her children. She also rejected pregnancy rumours, saying changes in Regina’s appearance were linked to weight gain.
The visit also drew a reaction from actor Stanley “Stanley Ontop” Ajemba, who had publicly supported Regina during the couple’s earlier dispute. Ajemba expressed frustration over the development and questioned why he had not been informed about the visit.
Rita’s latest clarification now appears aimed at putting an end to the immediate speculation, with the family maintaining that Regina’s visit was about seeing her children rather than restarting the relationship.
Regina Daniels and Ned Nwoko held their traditional marriage ceremony in Aniocha Local Government Area of Delta State in May 2019. They have two sons together, Munir, born in 2020, and Khalifa, born in 2022.
