Political momentum is building ahead of 2027 in Imo State as youth leader and APC aspirant Engr. Chima Kafor has thrown his weight behind Governor Hope Uzodimma, calling on young people across Orlu Zone to support the governor’s reported senatorial ambition.

Kafor made the appeal during a press briefing in Owerri, where he emphasised the need for unity among youth groups, warning that political fragmentation could weaken the region’s influence ahead of the next general elections.

He described Uzodimma as a leader capable of attracting stronger federal attention to Orlu and wider Imo State, arguing that his experience in governance would translate into greater impact if he moves to the National Assembly.

According to him, this moment requires coordinated youth engagement rather than division, insisting that sustained political alignment would help consolidate recent gains in infrastructure and development across the zone.

Kafor, who previously served as South East National Vice President of the Nigeria Youth Organization (NYO), said his support is rooted in confidence that Uzodimma’s representation at the Senate would accelerate development across Imo West Senatorial District.

He urged youths, student bodies, and community associations across the 12 local government areas of Orlu Zone to close ranks and build a unified political front ahead of 2027.

The youth leader, who is also an aspirant for the Obowo State Constituency seat under the All Progressives Congress, said his position reflects a broader commitment to what he described as long-term political stability and development in the region.

As political alignments begin to take shape, the endorsement adds another layer to early mobilisation efforts within Imo’s evolving 2027 political landscape.
