Former Kano State Governor, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has expressed deep disappointment over the decision of the state government he helped install to abandon the Kwankwasiyya movement and join the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Kwankwaso spoke following the official induction of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and his allies into the APC. In a video shared on Sunusi Oscar’s Facebook page, he lamented the sudden shift, questioning why the government formed under the Kwankwasiyya framework was now aligned with what he described as Gandujiyya, the faction linked to former Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.

“This government was formed with a lot of sacrifice, but without any clear reason that we know, it was taken away from our Kwankwasiyya structure and moved elsewhere,” Kwankwaso said.

He described the development as painful and disappointing, noting that only God knows the real reasons behind the move. He added that he continues to pray that outcomes would still favour his supporters.

Kwankwaso also congratulated members of the Kano State House of Assembly who recently won elections in Ungogo and parts of Kano Municipal, while highlighting low voter turnout.

He concluded by urging Kwankwasiyya supporters to remain steadfast and affirmed that those who followed the government into the APC still have the option to return, emphasizing that the door remains open.
