Immediate past Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, is expected to appear before Justice Maryan Anenih of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court in Maitama today, November 27.

Bello surrendered himself to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Tuesday, accompanied by his legal team. His arraignment follows allegations of corruption and financial misappropriation leveled against him by the anti-graft agency.

The EFCC, represented by Counsel Jamiu Agoro, had previously sought and obtained a public summons for Bello on October 3. During a prior session, Justice Anenih granted an adjournment requested by the EFCC, setting November 27 as the date for the arraignment.

EFCC Head of Media and Publicity, Dele Oyewale, confirmed the development, emphasizing that Bello would be docked in court to answer charges brought against him.

This case adds to the growing scrutiny of public officials as Nigeria’s anti-corruption drive continues to gather momentum.
