The House of Representatives will hold an emergency plenary on Tuesday to concur the decision of the Senate on the electoral bill.

Yahaya Danzaria, Acting Clerk, House of Representatives, stated this on Tuesday in a statement.

It would be recalled that the Senate had amended the electoral bill to allow the statutory delegates to be delegates at indirect primaries.

The upper chamber had given the bill an expeditious passage on Tuesday, however, the House of Representatives is yet to resume after the Easter break.

The bill, if passed, will amend section 88(4) of the electoral act, making the president, governors, local government chairmen and other statutory delegates part of indirect primaries.

The Senate President, Ahmad Lawan had disclosed that the bill will be passed by the House today for fast transmission to the President, Muhammadu Buhari for assent.

It is worth adding that most political parties will soon commence primaries in the next couple of days.
