Former minister of youth and sports in President Muhammadu Buhari’s cabinet, Solomon Dalung has dumped the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Dalung, who served as minster in the first term of President Muhammadu Buhari, announced his resignation from the ruling party via a letter dated April 18, 2022.

In the letter addressed to his ward Chairman in Sabongida ward Langtang South local government of Plateau state, the former minister said recent developments in the party conflict with his core principle of values which define the basis of allegiance to the party.

It read; 

“This is to convey my withdrawal of membership from the All Progressives Congress with effect from the date of this notice.

“It is worthy of mention that recent developments in the party conflict with my core principles of values which define the basis of allegiance to the party.

“Of note is the fact that internal democracy is critical to the survival of representative democracy without which political participation remains a mirage.”
