Content creator and streamer Carter Efe is set to face rapper and social media personality Speed Darlington in a high-profile celebrity boxing bout scheduled for October 1 in Lagos.
The fight, dubbed “Chaos in the Ring,” was announced by Balmoral Promotions on Sunday and will take place at the Federal Palace Hotel in Victoria Island. The event will also be streamed live on DAZN.
The October 1 showdown will mark the first boxing meeting between Carter Efe and Speed Darlington, although both entertainers have already established themselves within Nigeria’s growing celebrity boxing scene.
Carter Efe enters the contest after securing a unanimous decision victory over singer Portable in May. Efe dominated the three-round encounter, with all three judges scoring the fight 30-27 in his favour.
His victory also ended Portable’s unbeaten run in the celebrity boxing circuit. Efe subsequently received a ₦50 million pledge from businessman Emeka “E-Money” Okonkwo following the win.
Speed Darlington, meanwhile, will be seeking redemption after suffering a technical knockout defeat to Portable in 2025. He was unable to continue beyond the second round of their contest.
Darlington had previously challenged Efe following the latter’s victory over Portable, questioning the content creator’s ability and presenting himself as a tougher opponent. That challenge has now materialised into an official bout.
The clash adds another chapter to Nigeria’s celebrity boxing movement, where entertainment, social media rivalries and competitive boxing have combined to attract growing public attention.
Full details of the undercard, weight classes, number of rounds, purse arrangements and official start time have not yet been announced by the promoters.
