Kylian Mbappé Breaks Lionel Messi’s Record as Youngest Player to Reach 100 Champions League Games

Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappé has reportedly become the youngest player to make 100 appearances in the UEFA Champions League, reaching the milestone at the age of 27 years and 298 days.

The French striker achieved the landmark on Wednesday night when Real Madrid faced Roma at the Stadio Olimpico in the Italian capital. His appearance placed him among the few French players to reach a century of games in Europe’s premier club competition.

Mbappé marked the occasion by scoring the goal that brought Real Madrid level at 1-1. The Spanish side went on to secure a 4-3 victory in a match that saw seven goals scored.

According to the report, Mbappé is the fifth French footballer to reach 100 Champions League appearances. The milestone also puts him ahead of Lionel Messi in the record for the youngest player to reach the century mark.

Messi previously held the record after making his 100th Champions League appearance against Roma on September 16, 2015, at the age of 28 years and 84 days.

Mbappé began his Champions League journey as a teenager with Monaco in September 2016, making his debut at 17. His progression from a teenage prospect to one of Real Madrid’s leading forwards has now been marked by another major European milestone.

His century of appearances adds to a career that has seen him compete at the highest level of European club football. His goal against Roma also helped underline his contribution as Real Madrid claimed a narrow victory away from home.
