Funke Akindele has sponsored Nigerian content creator and filmmaker Jeffrey Oboh-Oshioke, popularly known as Juicyjeff, to study filmmaking at the London Film Academy.

Juicyjeff announced the opportunity on Tuesday after arriving in London for the programme. The filmmaker, who works closely with Akindele, is known for producing behind-the-scenes and mobile video content on her film projects.

In a post on Instagram, Juicyjeff thanked Akindele for supporting his filmmaking ambitions and described the sponsorship as an opportunity he would not take for granted.

He said the programme had turned a long-standing ambition into reality, while crediting Akindele for recognising his potential and helping him take the next step in his career.

Juicyjeff also documented his journey from Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos to Gatwick Airport in London, describing the trip as the beginning of a new chapter in his filmmaking journey.

“This is not just another trip. It’s a new chapter, a new frame and definitely a bigger production! From Lagos to London, the camera keeps rolling,” he wrote.

The content creator has built a following through his work documenting Akindele’s productions and activities on set. Akindele, who is currently in the United Kingdom following the launch of her latest film, The Four, is one of Nollywood’s prominent producers, directors and actresses.
