2027: APC Has Plenty to Tell Nigerians About Tinubu’s Achievements, Akpabio Says
ARTICLE
Senate President Godswill Akpabio says the All Progressives Congress (APC) will have enough to present to Nigerians when the party begins its campaign for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.
Akpabio said the Tinubu administration had recorded achievements in areas including the economy, agriculture, security, education and fiscal policy, arguing that the government would have a strong record to defend before voters.
He spoke while receiving members of the Senate Committee on Tertiary Institutions, TETFund and NELFUND, led by its chairman, Senator Mohammed Dandutse, at his residence in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
The Senate President said Tinubu inherited a difficult economic situation, claiming that 27 states were unable to meet salary and pension obligations when the administration took office. He argued that the situation had since improved as a result of what he described as the president’s economic reforms and policy decisions.
Akpabio also predicted that Nigerians would return Tinubu to office in 2027. He said the APC would use its campaign platforms to highlight what he called the administration’s “unprecedented achievements”, while challenging opposition figures to explain their own records in public office.
“We have a President who thinks outside the box, bringing about innovation. We will have something to tell Nigerians about the unprecedented achievements of Mr President at the campaign grounds,” Akpabio said.
He also praised the 10th Senate, saying lawmakers had made significant progress while working with the executive to deliver policies and legislation. He cited education-related initiatives, including NELFUND and TETFund, as part of the government’s interventions.
Dandutse, who spoke earlier, thanked Akpabio for his support and said the committee was in Akwa Ibom for legislative oversight and to inspect TETFund-funded infrastructure. He described education as central to Nigeria’s development and highlighted the impact of NELFUND and TETFund.
Akpabio’s comments come as Nigeria’s political parties and potential presidential contenders begin positioning themselves ahead of the 2027 election, with the APC preparing to make the Tinubu administration’s record a major part of its campaign message.

The APC says it won’t enter the 2027 election empty-handed.
Senate President Godswill Akpabio says the party has plenty to tell Nigerians about President Bola Tinubu’s performance in office, pointing to the economy, agriculture, security, education and fiscal policy.
He says the APC will take its record to the campaign grounds and is confident Nigerians will re-elect Tinubu.
But here’s the bigger question: Will the government’s achievements be enough to convince voters in 2027?
What should Nigerians judge the Tinubu administration on most — economic reforms, cost of living, security, jobs, or infrastructure?
