Adamawa State, Nigeria – The Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) reportedly attacked the Nigerian Army’s ‘Garahamojili’ camp in Adamawa State on Tuesday, leaving two soldiers dead in a fierce 20-minute firefight.
Camp Overrun and Vehicles Destroyed
According to Sahel security analyst Brant Philip via X, insurgents overran the camp, set it on fire, and destroyed three military vehicles. The attackers also seized weapons and ammunition during the assault.
ISWAP claimed responsibility, stating the operation was part of its newly launched “Burn the Camps” offensive. This incident marks the first reported targeting of a Nigerian Army base in Adamawa State by the group.
