Afrobeats megastar Davido has been confirmed as one of the headline performers for the official kick-off concert of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, setting the tone for Africa’s biggest football tournament.

The announcement places the Nigerian music icon alongside an international line-up that includes American rapper French Montana, Moroccan star Douaa Lahyaoui, as well as Says’z and Lartiste.

The opening concert is scheduled to hold on Saturday at the Olm Souissi Fan Zone in Rabat, Morocco, and is expected to attract thousands of football fans and music lovers.

Davido’s appearance further strengthens his reputation as a regular performer at major global sporting events, having previously taken the stage at the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations opening ceremony, the 2022 FIFA World Cup draw in Doha, and the 2023 Professional Footballers’ Association awards.

The concert will serve as a cultural prelude to the AFCON 2025 finals, blending music, entertainment and football in the Moroccan capital.

The tournament officially kicks off later on Saturday with hosts Morocco facing Comoros in the opening match at the Stade Prince Moulay Abdallah in Rabat.
