Israel DMW Declares Support for Atiku Abubakar Ahead of 2027 Election

Israel DMW, logistics manager to Nigerian singer Davido, has declared support for former Vice President Atiku Abubakar ahead of the 2027 presidential election, amid public reactions to the singer’s political stance.

Israel made his position known on Friday through a post on his Instagram handle, where he shared a photograph of Atiku, the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), according to the report.

In the post, Israel expressed a preference for northern leadership and questioned the allocation of a reported ₦15 trillion contract to a single individual. He also said he intended to vote for Atiku in the next presidential election.

“It is always far better, when a northern Nigeria rules. 15 trillion contract to one person alone?” he wrote.

Israel also called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to allow Nigerians to freely choose their preferred candidate in the 2027 election, stressing that personal integrity mattered more to him than money.

“I’m voting Alhaji Atiku Abubakar. INEC, should please allow Nigerians to freely choose whoever they want to govern them in January 2027. A good name is far better than money,” he stated.

The singer’s logistics manager also urged Nigerians to disregard what he described as “the 2.5m votes coming out from Edo State.” He went on to cite former Edo State Governor Adams Oshiomhole as an example, claiming that despite Oshiomhole’s popularity, his party had failed to win Edo State in two presidential elections.

“Adams Oshiomole remains the most loved and widely accepted governor in Edo State, wining 18 over 18, he could not deliver 500k votes to his party,” Israel wrote.

His comments come amid public debate over political alignments ahead of the 2027 general election. His endorsement of Atiku represents his personal political position, and the post does not establish any formal campaign role or endorsement by Davido.
