President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reaffirmed his administration’s determination to eradicate terrorism and reinforce Nigeria’s partnerships with global allies, pledging that security and unity will remain the cornerstone of his government’s agenda.
The president, in a strongly worded statement on Thursday, said Nigeria would face its challenges “head-on,” guided by calm, clarity, and a strong sense of purpose. He stressed that the nation was confidently asserting its place on the world stage while working to ensure the safety and prosperity of its people.
Tinubu described terrorism as a long-standing challenge that Nigeria must confront with courage and resolve. “We will decisively defeat terrorism and claim victory in this battle. Security is non-negotiable, and we will never compromise on this principle,” he declared.
He emphasized that unity and collective resilience were crucial to the country’s progress, describing Nigeria as “one united family” that must rise together in determination rather than despair. “Our future is far stronger than any fears we may have,” he said.
The president highlighted the progress made in the past two years under his administration, assuring Nigerians that ongoing reforms aimed at economic inclusion, security, and national cohesion would be sustained. He vowed to “spare no effort and leave no stone unturned” in the mission to eliminate criminals and restore lasting peace.
Tinubu also called on Nigeria’s international allies to strengthen their support as the country intensifies its fight against terrorism, pledging that Nigeria would remain a “reliable partner and dependable ally” in promoting global peace and economic cooperation.
Expressing deep gratitude to members of the armed forces and intelligence community, Tinubu commended their courage and sacrifice, saying their dedication represents “the strength of Nigeria’s fight against terror.”
