Toluwanisings’ Wife, Father Sign Peace Undertaking Over Burial Dispute

The wife, father and associates of late gospel musician Toluwanisings have signed a peace undertaking with the Oyo State Police Command following disagreements over his burial arrangements.

The development comes two days after the singer’s wife, Damilola Olayemi, reportedly agreed with her father-in-law that the musician would be buried at their residence in Ibadan.

In a statement issued on Tuesday by the command’s Public Relations Officer, Ayanlade Olayinka, the police said the parties signed the agreement to resolve the dispute and prevent further tension.

According to the statement, the Commissioner of Police, Abimbola Ayodeji Olugbenga, invited the parties after receiving reports of disagreements between the deceased’s family and associates over his burial arrangements.

The dispute had reportedly generated tension and exchanges on social media.

Under the agreement, the parties undertook to refrain from actions capable of escalating tensions surrounding the circumstances of Toluwanisings’ death.

They also agreed to stop discussing the dispute or granting interviews about it through any communication channel.

Those who signed the undertaking include the singer’s widow, Damilola Olayemi; his father, Muniru Olayemi; his uncle, Lawal Ademola Rafiu; his personal assistant, Babadunni Gbolabo; and his associate, Oyindamola Esther.

Toluwanisings reportedly slumped and died at his residence on October 14, 2026.

The latest agreement is expected to prevent further public disagreements among the parties as preparations for the singer’s burial continue.
