Blessing CEO Apologises to Nigerians Over Past Comments About People’s Pain

Nigerian relationship expert Blessing CEO has apologised to Nigerians for making insensitive remarks about other people’s suffering, saying she now regrets the impact of her past comments.

The apology came shortly after her partner, IVD, appealed for forgiveness from his family, friends and business partners over issues surrounding what he described as five years of difficulties.

In a lengthy Instagram post on Tuesday, Blessing CEO expressed regret over comments she previously made about people’s personal struggles. She said her present experiences had made her reflect on how carelessly she had spoken about the pain of others.

“I am realising that talk is cheap but action is loud. I’m only human, with blood flowing through my veins, so I’m bound to make mistakes,” she wrote.

She described the consequences of her past remarks as painful, adding that she had become emotionally exhausted and was struggling with her current circumstances.

“Mistakes have a price and that’s what I’m paying for now with my tears. I am so broken to the point that I am losing myself. Pray for me because I’m exhausted from praying by myself,” she said.

The relationship expert also repeatedly apologised to people she believed she had hurt through her words and actions, saying she now understood the pain she had previously dismissed.

“I am sorry, I am so so sorry, for speaking about the pains I have never felt carelessly. So I will say this over and over again, I am sorry to everyone I have hurt with words and actions, now I can feel every bit of your pain that I once mocked,” she added.

Blessing CEO had previously faced criticism over comments concerning IVD’s late wife, Bimbo Ogbonna. She was accused of making insensitive remarks about the circumstances surrounding Bimbo’s death, including suggesting that the deceased had contributed to her own tragedy.

Her relationship with IVD also attracted public attention after videos of the pair emerged on social media. An earlier video in which Blessing CEO said she would rather put another woman “six feet” than snatch her husband also resurfaced, generating further criticism.

Her latest apology comes amid renewed public attention surrounding her relationship with IVD and her previous comments about other people’s personal experiences.
