Jimmy Odukoya Introduces New Wife, Mo Jasyme, to Fountain of Life Congregation

Senior Pastor of Fountain of Life Church, Jimmy Odukoya, has introduced his new wife, Mo Jasyme, to his congregation during a Sunday service in Ilupeju, Lagos.

The introduction publicly confirmed his new marriage following the end of his previous marriage to Oluwakemi Banjoko, with whom he has two children.

Odukoya married Banjoko in London in March 2013. His new wife, Jasyme, was also previously married to British-Nigerian music producer Mosadoluwa Adegboye, popularly known as itsMOSA. She is a designer and creative entrepreneur who collaborated with Adegboye on several creative projects. The circumstances and timing of their separation have not been made public.

The introduction came a day after Odukoya shared a photograph of two hands on Facebook, one belonging to a woman wearing a diamond engagement ring and the other showing a diamond-studded wedding band. He captioned the image, “To a new beginning,” prompting speculation about his marital status.

Speaking during the church service, the pastor said he had handled many responsibilities alone since taking up pastoral duties, despite the biblical teaching that it was not good for a man to be alone.

He subsequently described Jasyme as the person he had been searching for before introducing her to the congregation as his wife and the church’s first lady.

“I’m sure some of you saw the post. Somebody, some people say, is it artwork? Is it, is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, no, no, it’s my wife. Let me introduce to you. For the first time, Pastor Mrs Odukoya. And your first lady, and my wife,” he said.

Jasyme also addressed the congregation, expressing her happiness at joining the church and standing alongside her husband.

“Good morning, family. It’s my pleasure and honour to be here and stand alongside my husband. The senior pastor of the Fountain of Life Church,” she said.

Following the introduction, Odukoya invited the founder of Citadel Global Community Church, Tunde Bakare, to offer prayers and blessings for the couple. Bakare, accompanied by his wife, Olayide, prayed for strength, stability and growth in their marriage.

He also prayed that their home would become a centre for Christian ministry and that their union would serve as a positive example to others.

“This home is built on the foundation of peace and stability and love of God. Nothing will desecrate it. Nothing will dismantle it. It will rise stronger and stronger daily, and it will become an example to follow, not a mistake to avoid,” Bakare said.

Odukoya is an actor-turned-pastor who took over leadership of Fountain of Life Church following the death of its founder, Pastor Taiwo Odukoya, in August 2023.
