Thousands of applicants in the Nigeria Police Force recruitment exercise can now find out if they have been selected after the Police Service Commission (PSC) released the names of successful candidates for the recruitment of 50,000 Police Constables.
The announcement was made on Wednesday in a statement by the PSC’s Head of Protocol and Public Relations, Torty Kalu, who said the recruitment exercise was conducted in partnership with the Nigeria Police Force and other key government agencies.
According to the commission, the recruitment process involved the Nigeria Police Force, Federal Character Commission, Ministry of Police Affairs, state career and counselling departments, and the Police Community Relations Committee. The PSC described the exercise as transparent, inclusive and in line with the principles of fairness and equity.
Candidates who sat for the recently concluded written examination have been advised to check their recruitment status through the official PSC recruitment portal, which became accessible from 12:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 16, 2026.
The commission also disclosed that successful applicants will receive notifications through the email addresses and phone numbers submitted during the application process. Those selected will later be directed to report to their designated Police Training Institutions for medical screening and documentation.
The PSC warned that any candidate who fails to report within the stipulated period will be deemed to have declined the offer. It also stressed that applicants who do not pass the compulsory medical examination conducted by the Nigeria Police Medical Team will be disqualified from the training programme.
Successful candidates are expected to report with their training call-up slip, National Identification Number (NIN) slip, Bank Verification Number (BVN) slip, original and photocopies of their educational certificates, alongside other documents and items specified on the recruitment portal.
Chairman of the Police Service Commission, Retired Deputy Inspector-General of Police Hashimu Argungu, commended President Bola Tinubu for approving the recruitment of 50,000 Police Constables, describing it as a major step towards strengthening Nigeria’s security architecture.
Argungu urged the newly recruited constables to see the opportunity as a call to national service, encouraging them to uphold professionalism, integrity and dedication in protecting lives and property across the country.
