Arsenal have been tipped to finally end their 22-year wait for a Premier League title, with data model Opta SuperComputer still backing Mikel Arteta’s side despite renewed pressure from Manchester City.

Pep Guardiola’s rotated Manchester City team strengthened the race on Wednesday night with a commanding 3-0 victory over Crystal Palace, a result achieved without star striker Erling Haaland featuring from the bench.

The win leaves City just two points behind Arsenal, with both clubs now having only two league matches left to decide the destination of the trophy.

However, Opta’s latest projections still favour Arsenal strongly, giving the North London club an 85.68% probability of lifting the Premier League title this season.

Arsenal’s remaining fixtures see them host already-relegated Burnley before travelling to Crystal Palace on the final day of the campaign, matches that could prove decisive in the title run-in.

According to the SuperComputer model, Arteta’s side are expected to finish the season on around 83 points, which would make it one of the lowest title-winning totals in Premier League history.

That projected tally would rank just above Leicester City’s famous 2015/16 triumph, when they won the league with 81 points in one of the competition’s biggest shocks.

The model also suggests Manchester City could fall short by a narrow margin of about three points, despite their strong late-season push and depth of squad.

With momentum shifting and pressure building on both sides, the title race is set for a tense final stretch as statistics still favour Arsenal, but City continue to apply pressure.
