Lagos, Nigeria – The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State is in shock following the sudden death of its newly elected Assistant Publicity Secretary, Yesiro Karamo, hours before his official inauguration.
Karamo was elected as part of the executive committee led by Cornelius Ojelabi at the Lagos State APC congress held on Tuesday at Mobolaji Johnson Stadium, Onikan, Lagos. His inauguration with other party executives was scheduled for Thursday at the Lagos APC Secretariat.
The Lagos APC confirmed the tragic news in a statement by the party’s Publicity Secretary, Seye Oladejo.
“The Lagos State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) received with profound shock and deep sorrow the news of the sudden demise of our newly elected Assistant Publicity Secretary, Karamo Yesiro,” the statement read.
“Yesiro’s passing is a painful and tragic loss to our great party at a time when his energy, commitment, and passion for progressive politics were most needed.”
The party hailed Karamo’s dedication to the APC, noting that his commitment and belief in the party’s ideals had earned him his position.
“Though his tenure was tragically cut short, his enthusiasm, humility, and readiness to serve left a lasting impression on colleagues and members alike. He was a vibrant party man whose contributions to the growth and stability of the APC in Lagos State will not be forgotten,” the statement added.
Karamo’s sudden passing leaves a void in the Lagos APC, with party members expressing their grief and solidarity during this difficult time.
