Controversial Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola Badmus, popularly known as Portable, has publicly accused his father, Mr Olalomi, of taking his personal belongings and negatively impacting his life.

In a video shared online, the Zazu crooner compared his father to the late singer Mohbad’s father, claiming that Mr Olalomi has been pursuing his possessions and properties. Portable said his life was more stable before his father became involved.

“My dad’s presence in my life is doing me more harm than good. My life was better and more stable when he wasn’t in the picture,” he said.

Portable also alleged that his father did not support him financially during his upbringing, including failing to sponsor his education or pay for his tailoring apprenticeship.

“When I was younger, he didn’t take care of me. He did not send me to school. He did not pay for my tailoring apprenticeship fee. His presence is affecting my life negatively. My dad is like Mohbad’s dad. He has taken all my shoes and clothes and he is just after my properties,” he added.

The singer’s revelation has sparked debates among fans on social media, with many expressing sympathy and others drawing comparisons to similar disputes in the Nigerian music industry.
