Chiamaka Nnadozie has extended her dominance in African football after winning the Women’s Goalkeeper of the Year award for the third consecutive time at the 2025 CAF Awards held in Rabat, Morocco.
The Brighton & Hove Albion shot-stopper was visibly elated as she received the honour on Wednesday night, celebrating what has become a remarkable chapter in her fast-rising career.
Nnadozie first clinched the award during its inaugural edition in 2023 and successfully defended it in 2024, cementing her reputation as one of the continent’s most consistent performers between the posts.
This year, the 24-year-old beat Morocco’s Khadija Er-Rmichi and South Africa’s Andile Dlamini to the prestigious accolade, reaffirming her status as Africa’s best female goalkeeper.
Speaking after receiving the award, Nnadozie said the recognition means a great deal to her journey. “Winning this award for the third time is huge for my career. I thank all the academies that I have played for,” she told reporters, acknowledging the institutions that shaped her development.
Her growing influence on the global stage has also been noted since her move from Paris FC to Brighton, where her performances in the Women’s Super League have earned widespread praise from fans and analysts.
The Nigerian international’s latest triumph adds to her expanding list of achievements and strengthens her position as one of Africa’s biggest football stars heading into future tournaments.
