The Ibesikpo community in Akwa Ibom State is mourning the death of a popular roadside hawker, fondly known as Mma Akara, who died in a ghastly motor accident on Friday night at Nung Oku Junction.

Eyewitnesses said a Toyota Corolla lost control, veered off the road, and somersaulted, fatally striking the akara seller and leaving several others injured. The crash happened so suddenly that nearby traders and passersby had no time to escape.

For years, Mma Akara was a familiar figure at the junction, selling freshly fried akara late into the night and becoming a household name in the area. Her death has plunged the community into grief.
