Following recent developments involving Edo State lawmaker Natasha Osawaru’s adoption of the surname “Idibia,” Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Public Relations Officer (PRO), SP Josephine Adeh, has issued a cautionary message to women. Osawaru’s decision to add “Idibia” to her name on social media platforms has sparked public discourse, especially considering the context of her relationship with Nigerian music icon Innocent “2Baba” Idibia.
SP Adeh took to social media to advise women against equating fleeting passion with enduring commitment. She emphasized that a man who easily replaces a partner may repeat such actions, highlighting that his treatment of women reflects his character. Adeh urged women to value their dignity over titles, cautioning that if a man left his previous partner for another, the new relationship might not be secure. She wrote, “No title is worth losing your dignity over. If he left her for you, don’t celebrate just yet—your turn may come.”
The timing of Osawaru’s name change coincides with public actions by Annie Macaulay Idibia, 2Baba’s estranged wife. Annie recently signed off a social media post using her maiden name, “Annie Uwana Macaulay,” omitting “Idibia.” This change aligns with reports of marital challenges between Annie and 2Baba, including his separation announcement and subsequent engagement to Osawaru.
SP Adeh’s remarks have resonated with many, sparking discussions about relationship dynamics and self-respect. Her message serves as a reminder for women to exercise caution and prioritize their well-being in romantic relationships.
