In a historic victory, the United Kingdom’s Labour Party has secured a commanding win in the country’s general election, achieving a working majority in the House of Commons by crossing the crucial 326-seat threshold.

Labour leader Keir Starmer addressed supporters at a jubilant dawn rally in London, expressing the gravity of the mandate. “A mandate like this comes with a great responsibility,” he remarked, moments after the results confirming Labour’s landslide win were announced.


According to the BBC, Labour is projected to win 410 seats, while the Conservatives are expected to hold just 144.

Following the defeat, Rishi Sunak conceded and congratulated Starmer in a phone call.
