Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp, has claimed that his team’s Premier League tie against Manchester City this weekend will be a completely different match compared to the one against Rangers in the Champions League.

Klopp is relieved that his side will go into their next match against Manchester City in the Premier League on the back of an away win against Rangers in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday night at Ibrox.

The Reds bounced back from their Premier League 3-2 defeat to Arsenal with a thumping 7-1 win against Rangers, thanks to Mohamed Salah’s hat-trick, Roberto Firmino’s brace and a goal each from Darwin Nunez and Harvey Elliott.

Speaking at his post-match press conference after the game, Klopp said that Liverpool’s win against Rangers would help lift the mood in his camp ahead of the Man City clash.

Klopp said, “It changed the mood, definitely. It’s completely different. We usually drink beer after away games, but it was that long ago that I drank beer and I probably will be drunk after one!”

He added, “Yes, it changes the mood completely and that’s good, but we all know who we are welcoming [to Anfield] on Sunday and this will be a different game, we know that. It’s better to go into a game with the feeling we’ve got tonight than any other.”
