Some Muslims in Kano State, Tuesday evening, conducted a special prayer against the prevailing insecurity in some parts of the country and supplicated for God’s intervention.

It was gathered that the supplication was conducted at the Pyramid Radio, Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria Mosque, located on Audu Bako Way in the state, shortly after the Maghrib prayer. The prayer was led by the Imam of the Mosque, Malam Dauda Lokon-Makera.

During the prayer session, the congregation was said to have prayed for the sustenance of the relative peace being enjoyed by residents of the state.

“It is incumbent upon us to pray for peace and stability to prevail in Kano because this is where we live, work, trade and conduct all other activities for our daily survival,” Lokon-Makera said during the supplication.

The gathering also prayed for a successful implementation of the ban on tricycle operations from 10 PM to 6 AM by the state government which would take effect from Thursday, July 21, 2022.

“The ban on the operations of A Daidaita Sahu from 10 PM to 6 AM by the state government is a welcome development as it will go a long way in tackling the pockets of security concerns being witnessed in the night, especially in Kano metropolis.

“The move to address such issues by the government is a right step in the right direction, and should, therefore, be supported by all of us,” the congregation said.

The faithful also prayed to Allah to end the poverty and the prevailing trend of inflation bedevilling the people, and restore their purchasing power.

The PUNCH reports that state government, had on Monday, restricted commercial tricycle operations from 10 pm to 6 am as part of renewed efforts to ensure the security of lives and property in the state.

Of recent, phone snatching and armed robbery by miscreants popularly known as “Yandaba” had become a daily phenomenon in the state.

This acts had led to the killing of many persons, especially in the Kano metropolis.
