The proprietor of HATS Aviation Ltd, Mr. Buchi George has vowed to ensure the 2012 Imo State Carnival does not hold.

Mr. George said he is set to obtain an injunction that will restrain the organization of the carnival.

The entertainment guru stated that the Imo state government pushed him into borrowing the sum of N34 million to organize the 2011 Imo carnival.

Mr. George was the chairman of the 2011 Imo Carnival Project.

The chairman said late approval of the proposal for the carnival due to civil service bureaucracy made the sponsors to pull out.

According to him, the proposal which was submitted to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism in June 2011, was approved in November.

Mr. George stated that MTN, Airtel, Nigerian Breweries, Etisalat, among others were all interested in the sponsorship but pulled out because of undue delay in approval of the proposal.

He said he had to borrow from different persons and groups to make sure the carnival held.

Mr. George frowned that every effort to receive the money from government has failed.

He said creditors have been harassing him over the money he borrowed from them.

Mr. George was dismayed that the state government decided to treat him unfairly rather than appreciating his efforts in contributing to the development of tourism in the state.

β€œI will do everything legally possible to get back the money to be able to pay the creditors”, he submitted.
