Dangote Group Explores Investment Opportunities in Egypt After High-Level Visit

Dangote Group is exploring opportunities to expand its industrial investments into Egypt as part of its broader pan-African growth strategy.

The development follows a visit by an Egyptian delegation led by the country’s Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, Dr Mohamed Saleh, to the Dangote Industries complex in Lagos. The delegation met with senior executives of the Nigerian conglomerate to discuss potential industrial collaboration, investment partnerships and capacity expansion.

The delegation included officials from Egypt’s Ministry of Petroleum and senior executives from the country’s oil and petrochemical industry. Discussions focused on opportunities for businesses in both countries to establish partnerships by leveraging their industrial capabilities.

The visit also provided an opportunity for the Egyptian officials to assess Dangote Group’s operations in refining, petrochemicals, fertiliser production and related manufacturing activities. The engagement comes as the Group advances its Vision 2030 expansion agenda, with Egypt emerging as a potential destination for future investments.

President and Chief Executive of Dangote Industries Limited, Aliko Dangote, described the visit as a symbol of African economic integration and the Group’s commitment to industrial development across the continent.

“This demonstrates true African integration. It reflects our belief that African businesses must invest across the continent to accelerate industrialisation and economic development. We are proud to be an African company building industries that create value for Africa,” Dangote said.

He added that the engagement provided an opportunity to showcase the Group’s industrial development and identify areas of cooperation that could strengthen production capacity in both countries.

Speaking during the visit, Saleh said the delegation aimed to translate existing diplomatic and business engagements between Nigeria and Egypt into practical investment opportunities. He noted that the visit followed previous interactions involving Dangote Group at the Alamein Economic Conference and other international investment forums hosted by Egypt.

“We are impressed by the scale of operations we have seen here—from refining and petrochemicals to fertiliser production. Our objective is to identify areas where Egyptian and Nigerian businesses can collaborate, expand industrial capacities and create long-term value for both economies,” Saleh said.

The minister stressed that private-sector participation would be central to strengthening economic relations between the two countries. He said combining the industrial experience and resources of businesses in both markets could encourage investment, increase production and create opportunities for sustainable economic growth.
