Okorocha, Wike’s Old Celebration Video Resurfaces After Court Ruling on Uzodimma’s Candidacy

An old video featuring former Imo State Governor Rochas Okorocha and Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has resurfaced on social media following a Federal High Court ruling on the All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial ticket for Imo West.

The development comes after the court ruled in favour of Okorocha in a dispute over the party’s candidate for the 2027 Imo West Senatorial District election, ordering the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to replace incumbent Governor Hope Uzodimma’s name with that of the former governor.

According to the report, the court held that Okorocha was the rightful winner of the APC senatorial primary conducted in May 2026.

Following the judgment, social media users on platforms including X and Facebook began sharing an old video showing moments when Okorocha and Wike were celebrating together.

The resurfaced footage has generated discussions about the relationship between the two politicians, particularly against the backdrop of the ongoing political developments surrounding the Imo West senatorial ticket.

Some social media users have also linked the court ruling to alleged influence by powerful political figures. However, the report does not establish any connection between the video, the judgment or the actions of government officials.

The development has drawn further attention to the political relationships surrounding the dispute, especially following reports of a disagreement between Wike and Uzodimma over the Rainbow Coalition.

The resurfaced video has therefore become part of the wider online conversation following the court decision, although the footage itself does not establish any role played by Wike in the legal proceedings.
