Osimhen Closes in on Galatasaray’s All-Time Foreign Goalscoring Record

Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen is closing in on becoming Galatasaray’s all-time leading foreign goalscorer after taking his tally for the Turkish giants to 68 goals.

The 27-year-old sits third on the club’s all-time scoring list, according to DAILY POST, with former Argentina international Mauro Icardi leading the ranking with 77 goals. Romanian football legend Gheorghe Hagi occupies second place with 72 goals.

Osimhen moved closer to the record with a brace in Galatasaray’s 2-1 derby victory over Fenerbahçe on Monday night, strengthening his position among the club’s most prolific scorers.

The Nigerian forward has also made an impressive start to the current season, recording nine goals and three assists in nine appearances across all competitions for Okan Buruk’s side.

His scoring form has increased attention on his pursuit of the club record, with just four goals separating him from Hagi’s tally and nine from Icardi’s reported total.

Osimhen will be looking to maintain his scoring run as Galatasaray continue their campaign, with each goal bringing him closer to the top of the club’s historical rankings.

If he surpasses both players, the Nigerian international would add another notable milestone to his growing record in Turkish football.
