Kaduna Police Seek Stronger Community Collaboration to Tackle Abductions, Insecurity

The Kaduna State Police Command has called for stronger cooperation between security operatives and local communities to tackle persistent abductions and prevent other criminal activities across the state.

The Commissioner of Police, Muhammad Rabiu, made the appeal during a security patrol covering the Eastern Bypass, Rido Village, Maraban Rido, Unguwan Luka and Izam community in Igabi Local Government Area.

Rabiu said closer collaboration between the police and residents could help improve security and produce better results in the fight against criminal activities.

During the patrol, the police commissioner met with traditional rulers and residents, who shared their complaints and security concerns with the visiting team.

He urged community leaders and residents to report suspicious individuals and movements promptly, stressing that public cooperation was important for preventing attacks and maintaining peace in affected areas.

“I assure you that information provided to the police will be treated confidentially and acted upon professionally in order to achieve the desired results of maintaining cordial relationships amongst residents,” Rabiu said.

The commissioner added that timely intelligence from residents would help officers respond more quickly to threats, prevent attacks and curb other crimes.

The patrol also took officers to Unguwan Luka and Izam communities, where they assessed local security concerns. The engagement forms part of efforts to strengthen police-community relations and improve cooperation in addressing insecurity in Kaduna State.
