Nancy Isime: ‘I’ll Never Discuss My Finances With a Man, Even My Husband’

Nollywood actor and media personality Nancy Isime has said she would keep her personal finances private from a romantic partner, including a future husband.

Isime made the comment while speaking on the Thanks for Coming podcast, where she discussed personal boundaries and expectations in relationships. She said she sees no reason to disclose details about her earnings or bank balance to a man she is dating or married to.

The media personality said she would also not expect her partner to reveal his financial details to her. For Isime, keeping individual finances private is a personal choice rather than something that should automatically change because two people are in a relationship.

“I will never discuss three things: my money, my money, my money,” Isime said. “I would never discuss how much I have in my account or earn with my man. For what? He shouldn’t discuss his either with me.”

Isime also spoke about privacy beyond finances, revealing that she would not go through her partner’s phone. She said she does not feel strongly enough about such matters to check a man’s device.

Her comments reflect a broader debate around financial transparency and privacy in relationships, particularly over whether couples should maintain separate financial information or share details about income, savings and spending.

The actress encouraged women who regularly check their partners’ phones to stop putting unnecessary pressure on themselves. She suggested that people should avoid becoming consumed by the urge to monitor their partners.
