Canada Invites 250 Senior Managers to Apply for Permanent Residence

Canada has invited 250 senior managers with Canadian work experience to apply for permanent residence through its Express Entry immigration system.

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) issued the invitations in its latest targeted Express Entry draw on Wednesday, with candidates required to have a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 389.

The latest selection specifically targeted candidates with Canadian work experience in senior management occupations, making the draw particularly relevant to foreign nationals who have already worked in Canada.

IRCC reduced the selection to a specialised group rather than conducting a general Express Entry draw, with eligible senior managers receiving invitations to proceed with their permanent residence applications.

Candidates who receive an Invitation to Apply must still meet the applicable requirements and submit the necessary documentation within the required timeframe.

The Express Entry system is used by Canada to manage applications for several economic immigration programmes, with candidates ranked through the CRS based on factors such as work experience, education, language ability and other eligibility criteria.

For foreign nationals already living and working in Canada, receiving an invitation can represent an important step toward obtaining permanent resident status.

Some eligible applicants who have already submitted permanent residence applications through Express Entry may also qualify for a Bridging Open Work Permit, depending on their circumstances.

A Bridging Open Work Permit can allow eligible applicants to continue working in Canada while they wait for a decision on their permanent residence application.

Applicants whose existing work permits expire while their bridging permit applications are being processed may also benefit from maintained status if they meet the applicable requirements and remain in Canada.

Under maintained status, eligible applicants can generally continue working under the conditions of their previous work permit while awaiting a decision.

Eligible family members may also qualify for work permits, depending on their individual circumstances and the requirements that apply to them.

The latest Express Entry draw provides another opportunity for senior managers with Canadian work experience to pursue permanent residence as Canada continues to use targeted selections within its immigration system.
