The quarter-final fixtures for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) have been confirmed following the conclusion of the group stage, with defending champions Nigeria set to face Cameroon in one of the tournament’s biggest clashes.
The final Group D matches, played on Thursday, completed the knockout lineup. Ghana secured qualification after battling to a 1-1 draw against Mali, while Cameroon also played out a 1-1 draw with Cape Verde to seal their place in the last eight.
Cameroon had already secured qualification before the final round of group matches, while Ghana’s result ensured the Black Queens advanced alongside them.
Nigeria, who are chasing a record-extending 11th WAFCON title, will now renew their rivalry with Cameroon as they bid to reach the semi-finals and move closer to another continental crown.
Elsewhere, Ghana will face Malawi in another intriguing quarter-final encounter, while defending runners-up South Africa will battle tournament hosts Morocco for a place in the last four.
The remaining fixture will see Ivory Coast take on Algeria in what promises to be another tightly contested knockout match.
With qualification for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup also at stake, the quarter-finals are expected to deliver high-intensity football as Africa’s top women’s national teams compete for continental glory.
