Nigeria’s Super Falcons return to training on Monday evening as preparations intensify for a crucial Group C showdown against Egypt’s Cleopatras at the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).

The nine-time African champions are looking to build on the momentum from their hard-fought 1-0 victory over Zambia’s Copper Queens on Saturday, a result that revived their hopes of progressing to the knockout stage.

The team held a recovery session on Sunday following the demanding encounter with Zambia. Full training is scheduled to resume at 6 p.m. on Monday at the ASFAR Training Centre in Rabat, Morocco.

Nigeria will take on Egypt at the Olympic Stadium in Rabat on Wednesday in what is expected to be a decisive fixture for both sides in Group C.

The Super Falcons endured a disappointing start to their WAFCON campaign, suffering a 3-2 defeat to Malawi’s Scorchers in their opening match. That setback has left the team needing a positive result to keep their tournament ambitions alive.

Head coach Justine Madugu will be hoping his side can deliver another disciplined performance as they chase a place in the quarter-finals of the continental competition.

A convincing victory over Egypt would significantly boost Nigeria’s chances of advancing to the last eight and keep alive the Super Falcons’ quest for another African title.
