GOMBE, Nigeria — Three men have been arrested in Nafada Local Government Area for allegedly engaging in ritual activities involving human remains, according to security expert Zagazola Makama.

The incident reportedly occurred on February 24, 2026, when Zakari Ibrahim, 45, of Barwo Sabon Gari Village, witnessed Umar Ibrahim, 30, of Madaki Quarters, digging a grave at the Barwo Sabon Gari Grave Yard. Umar allegedly admitted during interrogation that he had been sent by his father, Ibrahim Usman, 60, to retrieve body parts from a deceased person for ritual purposes.

The suspect also confessed that in 2025, he had previously exhumed a human toe from the same graveyard and handed it over to Alhaji Bappa Abdu, 35. All three suspects have been taken into police custody, and investigations are ongoing.
