The African Democratic Congress (ADC) Imo State Chapter, led by State Chairman Prof. James Okoroma, has described the task before its newly inaugurated National Membership Mobilization, Registration and Revalidation Committee (NMMRRC) as critical to consolidating the party’s growth ahead of the 2027 elections.

Okoroma made the remarks during the inauguration ceremony held at the party’s State Secretariat in Owerri, the Imo State capital. He said the committee’s mandate aligns with the party’s strategic roadmap and stressed the importance of building a robust, verifiable and technology-driven membership database from polling units to the state level.

According to him, grassroots localisation of party structures remains vital to democratic consolidation. He urged the committee to collaborate with support groups and stakeholders to broaden the party’s reach across the state, assuring that the state chapter would provide the necessary institutional support to ensure effective delivery on its constitutional responsibilities.

Okoroma also commended the party’s national leadership, led by Senator David Mark, for what he described as a merit-based selection process.

In his remarks, the ADC National Vice Chairman, South East, Chief Bon Unachukwu, praised the national leadership’s direction and the Imo State chapter for promoting unity within party structures. He said the committee’s composition reflects experience, capacity and inclusiveness, laying a solid foundation for membership expansion ahead of future elections.

Unachukwu tasked the committee, chaired by Nze Law Biaduo, to justify the confidence placed in them by mobilising, registering and revalidating members across the state.

The event was attended by key party stakeholders, including Deputy State Chairman Hon. Damian Ezeagu, National Vice Woman Leader (South East) Barr. (Mrs.) Joy Chioma Anyanwu, and other state and local government leaders.
