Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have achieved significant breakthroughs in counter-insurgency operations across Adamawa State and Borno State, including the arrest of a suspected drone supplier and the elimination of an insurgent commander.

The developments were confirmed in a statement released on Friday by Lt. Col. Sani Uba, Media Information Officer at the Headquarters of the Joint Task Force North-East.

Arrest of Alleged Drone Supplier

Operating alongside local vigilantes and hunters, troops arrested 64-year-old Dauda Usman Gubula at Madagali Motor Park in Adamawa State. He is accused of supplying drones to insurgent groups.

Recovered items included:

  • Two aerial drones
  • Drone accessories
  • 20 solar power banks

Military sources said the drones were intended to be modified for attacks against security forces.

Insurgent Commander Neutralised

In a related operation along the Visik River line, Sector 4 troops neutralised insurgent commander Abdullahi Mafa. Authorities recovered an AK-47 rifle and a loaded magazine at the scene.

Logistics Supplier Arrested

Troops under the 28 Task Force Brigade apprehended Ismail Muhammed, 28, in the Visik General Area of Hong LGA, Adamawa State. He is alleged to have supplied logistics to insurgents. Confiscated items included:

Muhammed is currently in custody for further investigation.

Foiled Insurgent Attacks in Borno

In Sector 2, troops working with local vigilantes and the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) repelled insurgent activity in Ngamdu, Borno State. An alleged informant attempting to breach defensive positions was neutralised, and insurgent logistics were recovered.
