Ifeanyi Ekwueme has resigned as Sporting Director of Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) side Enyimba, citing a desire to focus on his personal business ventures.
The former Super Eagles winger joined Enyimba ahead of the 2023/24 season, working closely with club chairman and former teammate Nwankwo Kanu. Ekwueme’s tenure coincided with a turbulent campaign for the Aba-based club, which struggled for consistency after a promising start.
Enyimba parted ways with veteran coach Stanley Eguma last year, and Deji Ayeni has since taken charge of the team. The club continues to navigate challenges both on and off the pitch as it looks to reclaim top form in the NPFL.
