Afrobeats sensation Davido has made a surprising revelation—despite collaborating twice with global rap icon Nicki Minaj, they have never met in person.
Speaking on the Bootleg Kev podcast, the Nigerian music star shared how their connection began through Instagram DMs before evolving into multiple music projects.
“You know the crazy thing? I have never met her. It’s crazy,” Davido admitted. “We speak on the phone all the time. The first time we linked was through DM. I noticed she was following me, so I texted her. I woke up the next morning and saw her reply—I was shocked.”
Their first collaboration, Holy Ground, was released in 2020, with Minaj delivering her verse just two days after Davido sent her the track. Plans to shoot a video in Los Angeles fell through as Minaj was pregnant at the time. However, their relationship remained strong, leading to another collaboration on her Pink Friday 2 album in 2023.
“She’s always been supportive. She’s amazing,” Davido added.
The unexpected revelation has sparked reactions from fans, with many expressing disbelief that two global stars who have worked together still haven’t met.
