APC to Inaugurate Tinubu’s 2027 Presidential Campaign Council on October 14

The All Progressives Congress (APC) is scheduled to inaugurate the Bola Tinubu/APC 2027 Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, as the ruling party prepares for the next presidential election.

The party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, announced the development in a statement on Tuesday. According to the statement, the inauguration will take place at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

The inauguration marks a step in the APC’s preparations for the 2027 general election, with the party expected to advance its campaign organisation ahead of the presidential poll.

Meanwhile, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has revised the timetable for the 2027 general election following changes to the country’s electoral legal framework.

INEC had initially scheduled the presidential and National Assembly elections for February 20, 2027, while the governorship and State Houses of Assembly elections were fixed for March 6, 2027, under the Electoral Act 2022.

However, following the repeal of the 2022 law and the enactment of the Electoral Act 2026, the commission reviewed the timetable to align electoral activities with the new legal requirements.

Under the revised schedule cited in the report, the presidential and National Assembly elections will now hold on Saturday, January 16, 2027. The governorship and State Houses of Assembly elections are scheduled for Saturday, February 6, 2027.

The APC’s planned campaign council inauguration comes as political parties prepare their structures ahead of the revised election dates. The event is scheduled to take place in Abuja, according to Morka’s statement.
