Imo APC Holds One Million-Man Rally, Backs Tinubu, Uzodimma for 2027

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Imo State has held a one million-man rally in Owerri to demonstrate support for President Bola Tinubu, Governor Hope Uzodimma and other party candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The rally took place on Saturday, with party members, youths, women and other supporters marching through parts of the state capital. The procession began at Dan Anyiam Stadium on Wetheral Road at about 8 a.m. before moving through Bank Road and ending at the Government House Roundabout along Okigwe Road.
Deputy Governor Chinyere Ekomaru, who represented Uzodimma at the event, commended Tinubu for his administration’s support for development in Imo State. She also praised the governor’s focus on youth empowerment, healthcare delivery and workers’ welfare, attributing what she described as the state’s developmental progress to cooperation between the state and federal governments.
Ekomaru expressed confidence that Imo residents would reciprocate the Federal Government’s support by voting for Tinubu’s re-election in 2027. She also urged residents to support APC candidates across the state in the forthcoming elections.
The Imo APC Chairman, Chief Austin Onyedelu, called on residents to support Tinubu, Uzodimma and other party candidates. He highlighted the administrations’ reported activities in healthcare, education, youth employment and security, urging party members to communicate government policies and programmes to people in their communities.
Onyedelu also defended Tinubu’s economic reforms, particularly the removal of the fuel subsidy, describing the policy as necessary to address Nigeria’s economic challenges. He expressed optimism about future economic recovery, job creation and increased exports, while urging supporters to intensify grassroots mobilisation ahead of the elections.
The rally’s convener, Hon. Chinasa Nwaneri, said the event was organised to demonstrate the party’s support base and prepare members for the 2027 electoral contest. APC National Ex-Officio member Hon. Ikechukwu Ume also expressed confidence in the party’s prospects, citing the turnout as evidence of grassroots mobilisation.
Other speakers, including Hon. Kanayo Onyemechi, Hon. Emeka Ndukwe, Rt. Hon. Amara Iwuanyanwu and Nnamdi Anyaehie, highlighted what they described as the achievements of Tinubu’s administration in infrastructure and economic development. They urged residents across Owerri, Okigwe and Orlu zones to support APC candidates in the 2027 elections.
