The rivalry between Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, and Nollywood actor Charles Okocha reached boiling point on Friday after the pair engaged in a fiery face-off ahead of their much-anticipated celebrity boxing rematch in Lagos.
Tensions flared during the official pre-fight event as both entertainers confronted each other on stage, exchanging heated words before security personnel intervened to prevent the confrontation from turning physical.
Videos from the event quickly went viral across social media, showing the two rivals standing nose-to-nose, trading insults and throwing mock punches while the event moderator struggled to steer the conversation back to the upcoming fight.
Portable appeared unfazed by the drama, declaring that he was fully prepared to defeat Okocha for a second time. The singer insisted his training had gone well and expressed confidence that history would repeat itself in the ring.
“I’m the man… I don prepare. I go win again. I go fight again. I go beat Charles Okocha,” Portable declared.
Okocha responded by dismissing the singer’s taunts and challenged him to reserve his energy for the bout. The actor warned Portable against disrespecting him and insisted their differences should be settled inside the ring.
“Can you save that for the ring? Don’t disrespect me. I’m not your mate,” Okocha fired back.
The dramatic exchange immediately became one of the day’s biggest entertainment stories, with fans and celebrities sharing clips online and debating who would emerge victorious in the rematch.
The contest follows their first celebrity boxing showdown, where Portable secured a unanimous decision victory over Okocha. After suffering that defeat, the actor activated the rematch clause, paving the way for another highly anticipated clash.
The bout, tagged “Unfinished Business” as part of the Chaos in the Ring boxing card, is scheduled to take place on July 31, 2026, at the Balmoral Convention Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos, and will be streamed live for fans across the country.
